International Workshop on Synthesis of Functional Oxide Materials

The International Center for Materials Research at the University of California Santa Barbara hosted an International Workshop on Synthesis of Functional Oxide Materials, whose purpose wass to bring together Chemists, Physicists, and Materials Scientists involved in the synthesis of functional oxide materials for fundamental studies and applications. Topics included correlated and magnetic materials, optical, polar, battery, high pressure materials, frustration, and superconductivity. The program consisted of invited speakers presenting 45 minute lectures. All participants were encouraged to submit poster abstracts. Attendance was limited in order to maximize interaction among participants.
